Our Sunday Club continues to thrive under the excellent and dedicated leadership of Hilary Homan.  She is ably supported by a large number of teachers and helpers who give generously of their time to help nurture the faith of our young people.  

Sunday Club Over the past few years the Mother's Union have made up hampers for Grandma's- Ireland .  This year we thought we could  join them. So over the next two Sundays: 18th and 25th November we would ask the children (and anyone else) to bring along non-perishable foods stuffs. The hampers will be given out coming up to Christmas.

Grandma's-Ireland is a Christian charity giving practical support to children and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Dublin and surrounding areas. The support that is offered to families is very simple and practical home-based childcare.  Many of the families  are very isolated and lonely as many may be immigrants.  They live with the knowledge of their illness and yet feel they cannot share their thoughts with friends and family due to the stigma being still so great.    One Mum said of her volunteer  " She is like the mum I have lost and the grandmother that my son lost. "Jesus said 'I was sick and you looked after me ... Whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine you did for me." (Matthew 25:36,40).

I have received a message from USPG who were extremely impressed with our efforts for the harvest particularly the art work/posters for the Curry party. They snapped loads of photos and will be showing them to other parishes and schools.  
       
We welcome Sophie Heseltine and Laura Lambert  who have both kindly volunteered to become leaders.

Reminder: Each Sunday we have a collection in SC and generally donate at end of year to chosen charity.
