Some parishoners will host coffee with baked goods after the 10.30am service as a fund-raiser for Robert Montgomery. Three-year-old Robert was born healthy but at 11 days old contracted viral meningitis and subsequently developed swelling of the brain (hydrocephalus) and suffered a brain haemorrhage and a stroke. He is blind and cannot walk or talk. His parents and their friends have been fundraising over the last six months so that they can bring Robert to a rehabilitative facility in Chicago where he will undergo intensive therapy that is not available in Ireland, to help him to maximise his potential.
