Sunday Services
All
Age Worship and Sunday Club
Worship must
be at the core of all that we do and we must constantly assess how we can
improve and do better. On the first
Sunday of each month we have introduced an All Age worship service which aims to
give our younger people a more active role in worship.
As there is no Sunday Club, the children stay in church for a shorter and
more family orientated service. Unfortunately
the congregation on this Sunday drops alarmingly when compared to the rest of
the month. It appears quite a number
take the Sunday off when there is no Sunday Club, which defeats the purpose of
having all age worship in the first place. We
may have to look at this again. There
have also been a number of occasions when Sunday Club members haven’t bothered
to turn up for the All Age service even though they had been practising
something for several weeks in order to participate in it. This is frustrating
for all involved, especially for their classmates.
If your child has been working on something for a service but then
can’t be in church, please let the Sunday Club teachers know in
good time.

During
school term time: On the
First Sunday of each month we have All Age Worship.
Children remain in church for a shorter, family orientated service and
there is no Sunday Club.
Unless
otherwise announced, there will be Sunday Club on the second, third, fourth and
fifth (where applicable) Sunday of the month. Parents/guardians are encouraged
to bring their children to church for the start of the 10.30 a.m. morning
service. (For approximately 15 minutes) Time
in church on these Sundays will include a short children’s address and a
children’s hymn, before the children leave for Sunday Club.
At the 7 p.m. Service on the Second Sunday of the Month the Junior Choir
are present to lead the singing.
At the 7 p.m.
Service on the Third Sunday of the month Brio, our contemporary music group,
lead the worship.
Holy Baptism.
Anyone wishing to have a child baptised in St Paul’s are asked to
contact the Rector to arrange a suitable time and a preparatory meeting.
Unless there are exceptional circumstances, all baptisms will take place
at a regular 10.30 a.m. Sunday morning service.
At baptism we welcome a new person into the fellowship of the Church
therefore it is usually much more meaningful when representatives of the parish
family can be present.
Collections
The loose plate collection taken at the Sunday 8.15 a.m. H.C. and at the
Wednesday 11 a.m. H.C. are lodged to the Poor Fund which is administered by the
Rector and is available to be used at his discretion to help the needy.
On average, €175 is lodged to this account each month.
Announcements
Any announcements/notices given to the rector for your attention or information
appear on the “Noticeboard” at the back of the weekly readings leaflet.
As the details of all such notices cannot be referred to during worship,
you are encouraged not only to read the “Noticeboard”
each week but to bring one of these leaflets home with you to keep for
reference.
If you have
anything you would like included on the weekly “Noticeboard” please have it
with the Rector on or before Thursday of each week as these leaflets are usually
printed on Fridays.
