Nine Lessons and Carols this Sunday
The traditional service of Nine Lessons and Carols by candlelight at 7pm this Sunday is always a very special part of the lead-up to Christmas at St Paul’s. It will be followed by mince pies and mulled wine in the Parish Centre.
Please note there will be NO 10.30am service this Sunday but there will be the 8.15am Holy Communion as usual.

A festive floral tribute to loved ones
St Paul’s will be decorated with poinsettias in memory of loved ones again this Christmas. If you wish to be involved, please put a donation of €5 per person in an envelope, clearly marked with the loved one’s name, to the Churchwardens, the Rector or Harriet Greenlee (087 224 7195) before December 17th. A list of names will be included in the service sheet on Christmas Day.

Countdown to Christmas begins
There will be All Age Worship at 10.30am in the Parish Centre this Sunday, November 29th, for the first Sunday in Advent. The following week, the popular, traditional Christingle Service will be held in the Parish Centre on Sunday, December 6th at 6pm, followed by a light supper of sausages and potato wedges.

Film Night this Thursday, Nov 19th
Philip Molloy of Newstalk will introduce a showing of the mystery drama Mystic River, directed by Clint Eastwood, in the Parish Centre this Thursday, November 19th at 8pm. Its stellar cast includes Sean Penn(below), Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon and Laura Linney. All welcome but seats must be booked by emailling stpaulsdub@gmail.com
Deadlines for 2016 school entry applications
Application forms for places in Junior Infants for September 2016 at Glenageary Killiney National School (GKNS) are available for collection in person from the school office until this Friday, November 13th, between 8.30 am and 2.30 pm. The closing date for receipt of completed application forms is Monday, November 16th by 2.15pm. The current admissions policy is available on gkns.ie.

Service to remember war dead
Our 10.30am service this Remembrance Sunday, November 8th, will be Parish Communion with an Act of Remembrance to honour all those killed in wars. There will also be Sunday Club. After church, the Badminton Club will be providing the coffee, in aid of the Blackrock Hospice. Please support generously.
Then at 6pm there will be the more informal Worship & Wedges for all ages in the Parish Centre, with the usual 7pm evening service, A Service of the Word, in the church.

Service to remember loved ones
There is a no more appropriate date for our Annual Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving of Loved Ones than Sunday, November 1st – All Saints Day, starting at 7pm. It is always a very moving service, with comforting liturgy, the lighting of individual candles and music sung by the choir.
‘Rear Window’ for Film Night
Philip Molloy of Newstalk introduces a showing of Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window (1954) starring James Stewart (pictured below) and Grace Kelly, this Thursday, October 22nd, in the Parish Centre at 8pm. There is no charge but any donations on the night for the ongoing work of The Dining Room in Dun Laoghaire would be most welcome. Please book seats on stpaulsdub@gmail.com
