There will be a soup and roll lunch after the 10.30 am service this Sunday, April 28th, to which everybody is welcome. All proceeds to the Kisiizi Surgeon Fund, which pays the salary of a surgeon in the Ugandan hospital that we as a parish support. If you have not already done so by then this would also be an opportunity to return your jar of coins collected over Lent. Thank you.
Our long- term goal is to raise €11,000 per year to provide for a surgeon’s salary on an annual basis so you might consider setting up a standing order or making a yearly contribution. The bank account details if you would like to establish a standing order are as follows:

Starting on Monday April 15th, five Church of Ireland parishes from this area will worship together on the evenings of Holy Week at 8 pm, rotating through the different churches. From Monday to Wednesday, the speaker at these joint services will be Philip McKinley, chaplain of Dublin City University. Meanwhile, each morning in St Paul’s, there will be a daily Holy Communion service at 7.15 am Monday to Thursday and “One Hour at the Cross” at 2pm on Good Friday.

Hugh McNally is the one new face on the Select Vestry for 2019/20. He and 10 outgoing members were proposed and seconded at yesterday’s Easter General Vestry, after which they were deemed elected without a vote being required, along with four ex officio members. Outgoing member Fiona Arnold, who did not wish to stand again, was thanked by the Rector for her service.

The St Paul’s parish Easter General Vestry (Annual General Meeting) will be held in the Parish Centre after the main morning service this Sunday, April 7th, at 11.45 am approx. Anybody who is a signed-up member of the General Vestry can let their name go forward for a place on the Select Vestry (parish council) and/or vote on the election of others.
There will be a showing of “The Professionals” this Thursday, March 28th, at 8pm in the Parish Centre, introduced by Philip Molloy. An arrogant Texas millionaire hires four adventurers to rescue his kidnapped wife from a notorious Mexican bandit. All are welcome to the Irish Cancer Society Daffodil Day Coffee Morning and Raffle in the Parish Centre this Friday, March 22nd, 10.30 am-12.30 pm. Donations of raffle prizes would be greatly appreciated.
Our Lenten appeal for the Kisiizi Hospital Surgeon Fund 2019 has got off to a good start with €310 raised in contributions at the Kisiizi Sunday service and many parishoners taking away jars to fill with coins. Any jar will do but there are still some at the back of the church so please collect one if you have not already done so.
Donations can be made anytime during Lent by putting them into the box at the back of the church or by placing it on the collection plate in an envelope marked Kisiizi.
