We had a splendid sunny morning for our annual outdoor service and barbecue on Sunday, September 3rd, as the parish family “regrouped” after the summer holidays.

A pianist from Ukraine, Yurii Levkovych, will give a recital in the church on Saturday, July 15th, starting at 7pm. His programme will include music by Bach, Schubert, Chopin and Liszt, as well as Ukrainian composer Skoryk and Rotaru from Moldova. Thanks to the generosity of a St Paul’s parishioner, a grand piano has been hired for this recital. Admission is free but donations to the charity SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine would be much appreciated.
The death has taken place of long-time St Paul’s choir member Jenny Vella. Her funeral will take place in St Paul’s this Friday, July 14th, at 11am. See more details here
A visiting choir, Samkór Reykjavíkur from Iceland, will give a concert in St Paul’s this Thursday, June 15th, at 8 pm. Free admission. The choir will be singing some traditional Icelandic music as well as well-known tunes.
Samkór Reykjavíkur was founded in March 1978 and has about 45 members. They regularly go abroad to give concerts and appear in events, but also to bond the group and have fun. The conductor of Samkór Reykjavíkur is Arngerður María Árnadóttir.
Families in the parish who have primary-school age children or younger are being invited to a social event in the Parish Centre on Saturday, June 10th, 5.30pm-7.30pm. There will be children’s entertainment and refreshments for all. Those intending to come need to email stpaulsdub@gmail.com no later than June 6th.
Our annual Summer Fair will be held in the parish centre, the church and surrounding grounds this Saturday, May 27th, 10.30am-2.30pm. A great family outing with entertainment and outdoor food. Stalls range from Clothes (worn less than twice), Bottle Stall, and Books to Cakes, Deli and Toys, plus Recyled Art, Vinyls, Jewellery, Collectors’ Corner and New Gifts.
Donations for the various stalls can be dropped off at the parish centre in the week running up to the fair, on the evenings of Tuesday, May 23rd to Friday May 26th, from 6.00 to 8.30pm only. Unfortunately it is not possible for stall holders to do collections from people’s houses.
There will be a Songs of Praise Service on Sunday, May 7th at 10.30 am. You are invited to list your favourite three hymns and then place them in the box provided at the back of the church. Alternatively, you can send your three favourite hymns to the Rector via email at garydowd51@gmail.com on or before Friday, May 5th at 12 noon. On May 7th we will sing the top 10 favourite hymns in St Paul’s at our morning worship.
